Missions

The mission programs at First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown reflect our relationship with Jesus Christ the Lord through mission projects and organizations that minister to the needs of humankind.  Jesus taught us that we should love our neighbor and go into all the world with the love of Jesus Christ seeking to bind up the broken hearted and strengthen the weak.  We have been called to even distribute a cup of cold water to one in need and serve in a manner that reflects neighborliness as depicted in the story of the Good Samaritan. 

We work to provide and equip volunteers for service in areas including housing construction or repair for low income families, temporary shelter for homeless or single parent families, food distribution, job training, social services/counseling, education/higher education outreach, child advocacy, medical needs assistance, and disaster relief.
